Catching up a bit--I've been living in my new place for a few months now, and I recently got Internet hooked up! This has been slightly detrimental to my health and I estimate that I lost a week and a half of productivity. Imagine being addicted to something for 9 years of your life, having it taken away for 1 year, and then getting it back. Don't judge me.
I decided it was time to modify my behavior when a friend of mine gasped when she saw me and asked "why are you so pale?!?" But seriously, I'm learning to deal with my newfound connectedness and I make sure to leave the house a lot. The school semester is starting up soon, so this will be less and less of a problem.
This is my new place (the fence has since been completed):
The best part: the exquisitely-designed bathroom. It's a fun, educational game getting to the toilet. Notice how the water pools into the corner; the designer did not have a firm grasp on the concept of gravity. The good news: the inevitable toilet smell doesn't filter into the rest of the house.
The suicide shower (if it starts smelling like something burning, time to turn it off!):
The kitchen:
The fridge and doorway into my office/bedroom. Notice anything weird? Yeah, the doorway used to be a window. I had them chop out the wall so that I could walk between the rooms without leaving the house (crazy, I know!).
The office--I don't use that door as this configuration saves me space. I could be an interior designer.
The view from my roof:
The view out my front door, towards the center of town.
