Basketball and Pat Riley in a habit

We interrupt our regular programming to bring you some pictures. A little background: I played in a basketball tournament this week with the professors from my region. We had previously played in a hard-faught inter-parish tournament (we won the clinching game by 2 points in the last seconds)  and as the winners, we now represent the county. This week we played in the semifinal and we won! Next week will be the final. We're all pretty pumped.

It was a brutal game. We were up 4 points after the first quarter, up 1 point at halftime, down 2 points after the third quarter, but we finally broke it open in the fourth and ended up winning 51-37! The other team had practiced together, had a clear height advantage, and had the home court advantage. My team never practices and is shorter, but what we lacked in preparation we made up in heart and intelligence. I am the de-facto captain, and at the end of the game they had me sign the scoresheet (an honor). Awesome!

After the game I had to hide out for a while because everyone wanted to give me free drinks and get me drunk to celebrate. I didn't hide well enough because I ended up a little tipsy.

Here are some pictures from my game. We're in blue. There are more on cara de libro:

That's me with the ball. Notice the immediate double team.

They were packing the middle.

The women also played basketball  -- the other team's coach was a very animated nun. This amused me to no end and I made sure to snap some pictures:

Directing traffic on the court.

Unsatisfied with the performance of her players, she joins them on the court!

Pass her the ball, for God's sake!

That's right, I even got a video.

Thanks and have a great day, folks.

I'm proud of you, hermano! May you continue to give them hell in baloncesto!!

Nice job. Way to go! As for the women's basketball game, the team with the flying nun probably had an unfair advantage: divine intervention? Best regards, Ken

this made my day:)
