Escuela, continued

Continuing coverage of the school:

Immediately after opening formation, two of the sixth-grade kids having breakfast just before English. The meals are heavily subsidized by the government, and the kids essentially eat breakfast and lunch for free.

The 7th and 6th-grade aulas (classrooms). It’s a lot of fun working with them.

The grounds where the kids play futbol during recess or P.E. You can see the greenhouse in the background—it’s currently falling apart and unused, something I plan to change in the near future.

The best part of the school—the ping pong table. I bought a new net and a few paddles and we play every other day or so. Here’s some crucial vocab that I have picked up: gancho (smash), batida (serve), efecto (spin). And yes, Adina, I am undefeated.

The TV is hooked up to the custodian’s DirectTV dish, so we can watch the World Cup while we play.
